The fiduciary duty of care is generally considered the highest legal standard of integrity, trust and accountability. Even the potential for a conflict of interest must be fully disclosed. We have no financial interest in recommending one investment product or solution over another. Our independence allows us the freedom and flexibility to create a specific investment strategy tailored to meet your unique financial goals. We do not earn a commission on any investment products. Our financial relationships are built on a foundation of trust, integrity and transparency.

The History and Meaning of Telos

History

Our roots date back to 1986, when the firm was founded as Alexander & Muckermann in San Diego. In 2003, our name changed to A&M Investment Management as a result of a partial ownership change. The change in ownership maintained a focus on providing clients with a financial peace of mind.

Meaning

In 2009, we incorporated and became what we are known as today: Telos Capital Management, Inc. The word Telos is Greek for “ultimate purpose” or “goal,” which exemplifies our goals-based approach to meeting clients’ investment objectives-an approach we still remain committed to.

Our Process

Considered to be one of the most influential philosophers of ancient Greece, Aristotle was known to have used the word "Telos" in his teachings. His studies including astronomy, biology, physics, politics, and philosophy, embraced observation and evidence gathered through the senses.

Our History

Telos was originally established in 1986 under the name Alexander & Muckermann, and was initially located in they Symphony Towers in beautiful downtown San Diego.

Our Values

The 1980’s was an important decade for San Diego. It was during this time the city’s population broke one million, Jack Murphy stadium hosted its first Super Bowl in 1988. That same year the Padres played in the World Series.

Our Process

The 1990’s was an era of strong financial growth including the technology boom which eventually turned into a the “dot com” bubble in the stock market.

The name Alexander & Muckermann was changed to A&M Investment Management as a result of a partial ownership change in 2003.

Our History

In 2008 A&M Investment Management moved from the San Diego Symphony Towers to its current location, the Scripps Northridge Corporate Center.

Our Values

In 2009, we became what we are known as today: Telos Capital Management, Inc. The meaning "Telos" embodies the goals-based approach to identifying and pursuing clients' goals and objectives. Along with the name change, a strategic decision was made to incorporate the company.
